APPLE RELEASES IPHONE OS UPGRADE

Even with all the hype surrounding the announcement of the new iPad, Apple hasn’t forgotten about the ever-popular iPhone.

The company has just released an OS upgrade for its very successful mobile device. Apple has just released the iPhone OS 3.1.3, which will encompass a number of small improvements, security patches, and bug fixes for the mobile.

Additionally, the iPod Touch will benefit from the same upgrade.

In terms of security patches, Apple has upgraded programs to protect the devices from maliciously crafted MP4 files, TIFF images and FTP servers. Additional security also includes improvements to USB control messages in order to prevent someone from accessing private data via the device’s recovery function, and an enhanced WebKit to effectively deal with HTML Mail messages.

Overall the update will address issues such as third-party programs not launching properly, improved accuracy in battery level readings of the iPhone 3GS and the prevention of the device crashing with the launch of the Japanese Kana keyboard.
