MOTOROLA BACKFLIP REVIEW

MOTOROLA BACKFLIPMotorola are back, and they clearly have something to prove with this unique ‘backflipping’ mobile effort.

Overview
Okay, let’s cover the ‘backflip’ issue first: When ‘closed’ the keyboard and touch-screen face out, but when its ‘open’, you see the QWERTY keyboard and trackball navigation. It’s a fantastically unique idea and pertinent too – we were all sick of slide phones, anyway, right?

So, no surprises, both of these are on the Backflip; but Motorola have taken it one step further by having a laptop-style touchpad mouse that is revealed when the phone is flipped out and enhances the web-browsing experience. The Motorola Backflip boasts a capacitive screen making navigation a breeze, and HSDPA, GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi connectivity are also present, along with Bluetooth with A2DP so the user can stream audio.

MOTOROLA BACKFLIPThe Backflip handset also packs in a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and the option of geotagging thanks to the GPS. And has the popular feature from the Nokia N97 of having life widget support on the homescreen. The Motorola Backflip is a real contender for 2010, with a ‘wow factor’ design. If Motorola continues to make phones as unique and complex like this, they will have no problem in regaining popularity and respect.
