NOKIA E72 REVIEW
The Nokia E72 is a massive upgrade from the Nokia E71 and set to rival Blackberry’s breed of business mobile, more particularly the Blackberry Bold 9700
Look & Feel
Nokia E72 still looks and feels about the same as the E71 and we were pleased to find the E72 is even thinner than a Blackberry. Score 1 Nokia E72. However the full QWERTY keyboard is also much the same and that’s not a good thing as it doesn’t quite match up to the Blackberry keyboards for optimum typing speed and comfortability.
In Use
The E72 relishes in quick instant messaging, PUSH email and Quickoffice applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) – everything to the serve the business person’s needs. The email application supports attachment, and web browsing supports XHTML, Javascript, CSS stylesheets, even Flash (hear that, Apple?) and will display almost every web page correctly. The Bold 9700 doesn’t even support Flash: Score 2 Nokia E72.
Camera
The 5 megapixel camera outperforms any Blackberry that haven’t got past 3.2 megapixels yet. Score 3 Nokia E72. This comes with flash, auto-focus and zoom, and as well as the main camera there is an additional one for video calling.
Connectivity
Internet runs at a massively fast 10.2Mbps HSPDA, and also supports Bluetooth 2.0, microUSB and WLAN. The brilliant connectivity of the E72 makes this device perfect for downloading, transferring and sharing data and as good as it gets to date.
Conclude
On the face of it Nokia have done everything to make the E72 even better than the Blackberry Bold 9700, and in specifications and speed it really is. The E72 just doesn’t look or feel as sleek or flash as a Blackberry. Still if you want a Blackberry that isn’t a Blackberry then the E72 is for you.
