SAMSUNG EXPECTED TO LAUNCH ANDROID TABLET
A tablet-sized version of the Samsung Galaxy S is expected to be released later this year, marking the first direct competitor released on Android for Apple’s iPad.
Korea’s JoongAng Daily newspaper quoted a “high-ranking official” at Samsung who indicated that the Galaxy Tab, Samsung’s version of the iPad, will be on display at IFA Berlin, which starts September 3. A Samsung Mobile official said back in June that the Galaxy Tab would be ready for release in the third quarter of 2010, so a launch at the start of September would make perfect sense.
Specification details are slowly emerging, at with no official announcements as yet, it is difficult to separate fact from rumour. But as it is incredibly fun to speculate, here is what we can expect at the moment from the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
There are plenty more rumours still going round, but those are the ones that have received the most repetition, so I am more inclined to believe them than some others which seem more like people listing what they hope will be included.
Engadget has reported that it will be shipped by Vodafone in the UK but no pricing details have been confirmed yet.
