Virgin Media have announced a new range of Android mobile phones which will include Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, HTC Desire, Samsung Galaxy Portal and LG Intouch Max GW620.

Virgin are the sixth network to offer the HTC Desire and will offer LG Intouch Max GW620 and Samsung Galaxy Portal for free from £22 per month.

The large smartphones, Xperia X10 and Desire, will be due to come in April. There is no information yet on the tariffs but Virgin Media advises that they will be compelling.

Android phones are really coming to the fore in the UK market and statistics showed they rose significantly in the last quarter of 2009. Watch this space.
