Vodafone offers the fastest mobile browsing in the UK, according to an independent poll commissioned by the company’s competition O2.

The study, carried out by SIRODA, was commissioned over a 60-day period in 150 locations in the country in order to determine which networks provide the fastest service.

The poll was divided into two categories: web page access speed, won by Vodafone, and music download speed, won by O2.

The first section, however, is arguably more important as efficient web access speed is crucial to networks as Internet mobile browsing continues to increase in popularity.

But even though Vodafone was found to offer the fastest speeds in five UK cities, followed closely by O2, Orange and T-Mobile with four each, O2 is still claiming the overall victory as the network came out on top in London, one of the heaviest use areas for mobile data.
