VODAFONE SELL 100,000 iPHONE HANDSETS

In Vodafone’s first week 100,000 iPhone handsets were sold after selling a record-breaking 50,000 iPhone’s on their first day – more than any other network selling the iPhone.
It is believed Orange sold 100,000 iPhone handsets during December and only sold 30,000 iPhones on their first day selling the handset. Orange didn’t allow pre-orders due to O2′s outstanding exclusivity period, but Vodafone allowed pre-orders in December before its official release date on January 14th 2010.
However, Vodafone CEO, Guy Lawrence, believes the success was is in their high-end network:
‘The demand from both consumer and business customers has been phenomenal. They want an outstanding phone on an outstanding network and we’re delivering that.’
The success of Vodafone is believed to be in the strength of its 3G network where O2 (who exclusively sold the phone initially) originally faltered.
