WAKE UP TO BENEFITS OF DUAL-SIM

Dual-SIM mobile phones are highly beneficial for travelling, such as SPice Mobile’s dual-sim handset has been for product marketing consultant, Pracheta Jah:
“I thought I will be able to overcome the operator barrier with dual-SIM technology, which can support both my Indian SIM card and an international SIM card.”
Dual sim technology also enables the user to take advantage of the perks of two different tariffs:
“I bought Loop Mobile’s connection for its affordable value-added services that come in handy while
communicating with family and use my Airtel SIM card as the primary number for work,” Jah said.
Now, there are roughly 350,000 purchases of dual sim handsets every month and reportedly about 20 million people own dual-sim mobile phones despite the big mobile phone providers not yet catching on, as Kolkata accountant of Piyuish Joglekar explains:
““Since big mobile phone manufacturers have not shown much interest in producing dual- or multi-SIM mobile phones, we have to buy from Tier-II and new vendors like Intex, Spice and MobileStore’s in-house brand, Ray.”
However, Samsung possesses three dual-SIM mobile handsets and is planning more for 2010. We can also expect many more companies to step in.
